Since its formation, Rockjumper Birding Tours has been supporting the conservation of the birds that bring us many delightful hours of sheer bird watching pleasure.
Learn MoreThe trip was fantastic. The good: Andre was extremely knowledgeable, very excited about the birds, tried to get everyone on the bird, and was very organized, helping with every little issue. He was friendly & shared info about his family, which was fun. I was particularly impressed that he didn’t take photos during the time he spent with us. Also I want to commend Mark, the local leader. Extremely knowledgeable, and added a layer of information about Uganda. Very friendly & helpful. I would spend time with him any time. Kudos to Rockjumper for organizing such a varied trip. In addition to the usual activities, the 2 boat rides were very valuable not only for adding birds but for a different perspective.
This extension provides the opportunity to observe some very rare birds. Highly recommend that keen clients on the cruise take advantage of this opportunity. Glen gets a gold medal for excellent guiding under difficult circumstances.
I really enjoyed the trip and Lev was great. Since this is the first relaxed program, here are my thoughts: The pace was good and the places we went were productive (from a birding perspective). Getting up and moving earlier would have been fine and evening owling would have been good. Considering the stinking heat, I really appreciated not having long hikes. A friend came on the regular trip and said it was quite a difficult trip -- I was willing to give up some birds for a less strenuous trip.
It was a wonderful time with wonderful people!!
The tour was well organized, varied and the itinerary was superb. We enjoyed birding, the lemurs and the night walks. Ryan is an excellent guide with patience and humor. All 5 domestic flights were on time. We were happy with the different accommodations. Last but not least we enjoyed to make the tour in a small group. We have a not confirmed tour to Bhutan in April 2026 and would be happy to go on this tour also in a small group.
The whole tour went very well. Bobby was constantly attentive and always in good spirits. Eric was very knowledgeable about all the avifauna and ecology of his country and had a very good 'ear'. Accommodation, food and travel was of a good standard and the weather treat us well. All in all, an excellent trip.
