What Customer Say About Us

I feel very fortunate that we had Glen and Dušan as leaders. What a team! Could not have been any better.

The tour was very well coordinated between the local camp crew and the Rockjumper staff. hile I knew there would be some tent camping, I didn’t realize there would be a total of 9 nights-necessary to be close to the desired birding sites. Camping was a bit cool but the down sleeping bags and cots made it quite comfortable. Nigel, the Rockjumper leader and Jig Me, the Bhutanese guide, worked well. Most birding was done from the roadside. Bhutan is a beautiful country with wonderful people, spectacular scenery and great food. A wonderful experience.

Dusan was a great guide. His prep everyday for the best locations specifically to visit for the specialty birds was outstanding and mostly successful. The local crew were also outstanding. Bablu is a great source of all information and a very pleasant travelling companion. The driver and his assistant came up with an outstanding plan to retrieve my forgotten phone. The long drives were taxing but I understand as the distance between areas we visited were extensive. The food was way better than I had expected. All the hotels were great.

Besides being an excellent birder, Ryan also knows his wildlife and reptiles. It was a joy to be on the trip with someone so engaged in the natural world. Not only did I very much enjoy my first experience with South Africa and Rockjumper, I also learned a lot. Ryan is an exceptional guide.

Both guides were excellent and complemented each other very well.

This was my first Rockjumper tour and first organized group birding tour. I am not a dedicated birder (my wife is the birder) but it was still an enjoyable experience and left me willing to go on others with her. Paul was an excellent guide and I hope we can find another tour with him in the future. My only feedback on the trip would be that it seemed the itinerary was a day too long. There is lots of driving across Iceland, and I'm glad we were able to see some of the geologic and geyser sights, but would have rather spent the excess day getting out to the island to see the Puffin colony. The thing I was really hoping to see on this trip that I hadn't seen before was a Puffin on land, and the itinerary change that removed Flatey Island from the trip was disappointing. The lodging for the first two nights at Kast Guesthouse was underwhelming and I think I've had a larger room on a cruise ship. I realize there's probably not many lodging options out on that peninsula, so understand if it's the best available. Overall happy with the trip and will likely travel with Rockjumper again.
